Homeschooling Curriculum Online

Homeschooling is for people that want their children to have an extra edge when it comes time to pick a college.
Some people believe that a Homeschooling Resources is a black mark against a child entering college or applying to a particular
college. The truth is actually the opposite as kids that are schooled at home are often able to achieve higher marks
on the standard college entrance exams. This is because of the flexibility the students have in their curriculum.
With the internet today, this is practically nothing that can’t be learned online. A home schooled child should be
able to pick up a lot of momentum if there Homeschooling includes doing internet research. My daughter finds the
opportunity to collect information online extremely enjoyable and her skills for reading (both speed and
comprehension) have increased dramatically since we started including the internet as part of her daily learning
resources.
No doubt that many people find this kind of learning to be strange and are not only scared of it but actually
criticize people that are using a Homeschooling environment for teaching their children. But as with most criticism, it is
being shouted the loudest by people that don’t understand what they are criticizing or have the most to lose. For
instance, most public school teachers went to school for several years to get their masters or PHD in education.
They have been brainwashed into thinking there is only one way to educate. Besides, if they encouraged parents to
take on the role of homeschooling, they would lose customers and government funding if people actually started
taking their students out to school them at home.
Do my children miss the socialization provided in public schools? No, they have lots of extra curricular activities
including sports, chess clubs, karate clubs, youth groups, bands and other music instruction as well as organized
field trips sponsored by local homeschooling groups. What do they miss that they are glad they miss? Peer pressure,
having to “fit in”, having to wear the “right” kind of shoes and jeans, being bullied, being excluded from clicks
are just a few of the things that they really don’t miss by not being in public school.
